Key Thoughts of the Day Jan 26th through 30th 2013

This week, I have discussed a variety of topics in my blogs.  Basically, what I would like to reiterate today is this: knowledge is key.  What do I mean?  First off, knowing your real estate market is crucial to your success.  If your knowledge is stale, so is your business.  Something as simple as taking the long way home can help inform you about the local market and give you an edge in the business.  Knowledge about the workings of the internet is also a major player in your success.  Real estate is all about internet presence!  By improving your marketing bio, you can attract potential clients.  Trust me, your clients will Google you to validate you, even before you meet.  Your internet marketing bio should go beyond social media.  How can you have a good bio?  This is one of the topics I discussed in my trainings this week.  If you are determined to improve your real estate business this year, I would encourage you to get into a training.  By understanding the interet and how it works, you can have the tools to create a business beyond your expectations.  So, as we move into February, think about the value of knowledge in what you do.  Making an investment of your time and effort will pay for itself in the long run.  Happy February to all of you- may 2013 be the year of your dreams!

What is a Real Estate Internet Marketing Bio and how to make it zing?

Posted by Key Yessaad on January 30, 2013 at 8:00 AM Comments comments (0)

What is the purpose of an Internet Marketing Bio? The internet has allowed Real Estate Sellers and Buyers to use the internet as a Gatekeeper between them and Real Estate Professionals; a very empowering feeling. But the internet also offers Real Estate Professionals their ability to get to be known as well – ponder this idea: What if your ‘would-be customers’ wanted to meet before they meet you? Think about that! What would they use? Well; the i...

In today’s session 6 of i-FAStTRAC Real Estate Training I will focus on Spiders, also known as Web Crawlers, Indexers, and sometimes Bots. These little critters are released by Search Engines to feed on web information, index it, and then run it through the Search Algorithm that generates the Search Results Rankings. So what do these fuzzy lovable critters feed on? Does your Real Estate Website offer the right nourishment? but more importantly –...

Refresh your Local Real Estate Knowledge by being in it

Posted by Key Yessaad on January 27, 2013 at 8:00 AM Comments comments (0)

The Business of Real Estate is Local, has been Local, and will continue to be Local for the foreseeable future; maybe we need to stop thinking we know everything about our local area and try re-discovering it. Many divorces occur because one spouse assumes they know the other spouse well enough and stop seeing them in a new light. So, what if we stopped going to work the same efficient direct way and started driving longer ways through neighborhoods we thought we knew? W...

Business Projects without Time Boundaries will keep you from Progressing

As the resources of information have increased it is now a fact that every single endeavor can be done better; yet there is one commodity that cannot be stretched more than it already has, and it is Time; well the time that each one of us has. It is easy to buy time – it’s called hiring employees, virtual assistants, or partnering with colleagues – but the time that one has is limited – therefore you need to know when to end your projects. ...

Weekly Recap of Key's Thoughts of the Day Jan 19th through 25th 2013

This week, we discussed a very important topic: Planning.  Planning is a multi-faceted concept that requires a daily commitment. To run a successful business, one must plan in several phases.  First, you need to know your goals for the year.  This allows you to plan your monthly, weekly and daily activities.  By planning your time, you take control of and responsibility for your actions and give opportunity a chance to sneak in.  In other words, a good plan creates opportunities.  Planning also helps take the emotion out of the necessary activities.  Let's face it- there are many tasks you may not like that are involved in the real estate business.  It is up to you to tackle them anyway- if you want to succeed!  How you feel is important, but it should not be the gauge by which you perform.  You must take on the idea that no matter how you feel, you will "do it anyway."   As the new year marches on, I want to challenge you to plan.  Sit down each week and make a plan for yourself for the coming week.  You will be amazed at how taking this small step can affect your productivity and your success.  And remember, make the commitment to "do it anyway," even on the tough days.  With a good dose of perseverence and planning, 2013 can be YOUR year!

Battle your workday Anxieties with good Prioritizing of Activities

Posted by Key Yessaad on January 25, 2013 at 8:00 AM Comments comments (0)

Anxiety over all of the work you have to do is totally understandable at times, but it does not help you become effective – it causes you to not think clearly and fail to prioritize. Anxiety over your workday is simply a sign of lack of control and to remain in that state of being only adds to your stress and truly accomplishes nothing; you will not gain more hours nor more sympathy – you will simple add to the possibility of compounding your mistakes; so wha...

Reduce your input organically and your productivity will increase

What is productivity? Some think that the concept of productivity relates to the ability of getting more things done within the same period of time; I will slightly disagree and offer another way of thinking about it – Productivity is the reduction and streamlining of input to generate the highest output possible. Let’s think of an example that a Real Estate Agent can use to reduce input and increase output – take your Smartphone and make sure that your...

Are you processing your To-Do List through the prism of your Emotions?

One of the hurdles some Real Estate Agents must overcome is not the ‘Not Knowing’ of what to do, lots of good Real Estate Trainings are available out there – it is The Not Liking of Doing what they know they ought to be doing. They learn for example that Prospecting is a MUST to grow their business; they even learn the scripts of what to say and how to say it; yet some linger in the office trying to find busy work rather then confronting the beast of Pr...

What is Not Done can consume more business energy than the doing of it

Posted by Key Yessaad on January 22, 2013 at 8:00 AM Comments comments (0)

Going about your daily business and getting things done is in essence an investment of your time and energy, and as an entrepreneur you do not get paid for that; all of the calls you make; all the emails you send; all the travels you undertake are not rewarded by a payment, but they should get you closer towards your Real Estate deals closing. Some of the tasks are not fun and some can be enjoyable, but what saps your energy and efficiency are your loose ends, act...

Planning your Business Week is about taking Responsibility for your Activities, and inviting Opportunity

The Business and Work of an Entrepreneur must be structured and framed properly; either by the entrepreneur herself, partners to the venture, or the desire for entrepreneurship was flawed to begin with. The Real Estate Business lives in the realm of Entrepreneurial Endeavors, but sadly for many the ‘Work’ is not structured, methodical, implementable, and repeatable – in fact for many it is emotional and driven by the feeling of the day. Here is an examp...

A Recap of Key's Thoughts of the Day Jan 4th through Jan 9th 2013

How is your year going so far?  Are you creating good habits that will ensure your future success?  If not, then perhaps it's time to get started!  This week, I covered several topics, all with some focus on motivation.  In a nutshell, motivation and good habits are the keys to your success in your business.  Your personal motivation will dictate your actions, affecting whether or not you meet your goals.  If you are motivated to complete tasks within your plan of action, you create good habits and ultimately ensure your sucess.  Also, understanding the motivations of your clients allows you to set realistic goals with and for them.  Neglecting to know the "why" of your customer, you set them,as well as yourself, up for failure.  Finally, you must empower yourself to never quit. Determination is key in this business where "No" is a commonality. By committing to the success of yourself and others, you are guaranteed to make 2013 the year of your dreams.

I will empower my being to pursue my dreams and support others in their dreams

The Power of Intention is not about your ability to know everything – The Power of Intention is driven by your desire and determination to never quit. I have worked with many wonderful and thoughtful Real Estate Trainers and Brokers, and I have learned a lot from them – the central component of success that they all have in common is the drive and determination that their success in never in question, and that they will muster the courage to con...

Without a clear understanding of ‘Why’ a Property Owner is selling their home your Marketing will fail. Experienced Agents will tell you that the ‘reason for selling’ will reveal not only the motivation of the Property Owner, but also the time you have to do your job. The National Median Days on Market is between 70 and 100 Days and since 95% of all properties go through at least one price reduction, it means that you have 3 months t...

Incompletions Diminish your Opportunities and Eat at your Business and Serenity

Incomplete Tasks and Avoided Conversations become nagging Incompletions and they throw the balance of your business, presence, and happiness out of center. Let me share with you a useful definition of an incompletion: it is a task that you have been putting off that finds a way to pop in your mind and linger in a caustic fashion. Usually these are tasks that you have been trying to avoid because they are either unpleasant, and/or tasks that involve some kind of confronta...

The Freedom afforded by The Real Estate Business ruins lots of Careers

Posted by Key Yessaad on January 4, 2013 at 8:00 AM Comments comments (0)

According to NAR Research the Median Income of Realtors was $34,900 in 2011, and those with lots of experience, 16+ years, had a Median Income of $50,200. The top earners, six figure income and up, were 17% of all Realtors or over 150,000 such agents. Obviously experience is a great asset and must be earned; the challenge in getting new agents to that level of experience as quickly as possible, requires boxing them in with a plan of action, and a mentorship program that ...

"I attended the web strategy training with Key on Tuesday the 14th of July and the content and method of presentation was phenomenal, but I was totally sold when after following his steps, I got the first 5 returns out of 10 on page 1 of Google. That is 50% coverage on page 1 of the search engine that has over 72% of all search traffic, AMAZING. All I did was ...... I can't tell you! You have to join EXIT and take the course so Key can get your mind right for the Google Juice."

Thanks, you have brought many things into perspective for me in Real Estate. I will stop the unproductive and focus on the productive again." - Mike Grumbles in Tennessee

John and Angie Byers - Broker/Owner of Exit Realty South in Charlotte North Carolina

"Before we attended four of Key Yessaad internet / blogging / database / web strategy events in 2009, our internet traffic and leads "trickled in" on occasion. Within a few short months our traffic tripled and has continued to climb each month. We never worried before, because "we didn't know what we didn't know". Now that we are "Enlightened", we have formed productive web habits, our expectations are higher, and we are extremely optimistic about our expectations for increased web traffic (and Sales Success). Key was the "Key" in 2009 and we can't wait for even more in 2010!" - John and Angie Byers in Charlotte North Carolina.
Craig Summerall, Broker/Owner Exit Real Estate Consultants, Lexington SC. Attended Real Estate Blogging Strategy in Columbia SC Thursday March 19th. "Key, thanks again for the outstanding training/information/guidance/and “kick in the pants” you provided yesterday, March 19 for the EXIT agents in the Columbia area. Your enthusiasm is tremendous and the knowledge agents now have will allow them to properly position themselves in their respective markets. We look forward to seeing you again in May!" - Craig Summerall in Lexington SC
